Bob۞Who wrote us back yesterday and I just haven't taken the time to read through his responses to our short-interview and post them for everyone to check out.

Bob۞Who submitted the below photo to our flickr pool - the festival depicted is 10,000 Lakes Festival.

The interview piece for Photo of the Week this time around is slightly different than in previous selections. We needed a change - check out Bob۞Who's response below - where he gives some brief history about himself and his photo depicted above.

Check out Bob۞Who's after the continue.

I usually haul in recording gear at concerts, having sold my AKG's to Wave Street Studios when Garcia became Gratefully Dead I no longer was busy lugging gear at events. It was some time later that I jumped into a Nikon D70 and after 2 years shooting landscapes and architecture I was ready to do a Festival. I was very eager to visit the midwest for the very first time to attend the 10,000 Lakes Festival in Detroit Lakes, MN (not very far from Fargo, ND). I hadn't camped at a show for over a decade, and I had never had a Nikon with me at a show. As fate would have it my shutter froze about two weeks before the Festival (after 70,000 clicks) and I shipped it to Nikon for a rush repair. They got it done in time but UPS messed up delivery and I had to fly out before the camera arrived. Nikon came to the rescue, intercepted the package in CA and diverted it over to Detroit Lakes just in time for the festivities on Day 2. I used my old Olympus C-2020 on day 1 and the Nikon D70 thereafter all summer. With the Nikon I was bracketing my exposures for HDR tone mapping effects with Photomatix (www.hdrsoft.com for a demo). I was snapping off 3 quick shots at 0, -2, +2. instead of just one. This way I have a better chance of capturing correct exposure of the dynamic range without a flash, particularly in the dark . I then do a massive batch process in Photomatix, and depending on whats happening between clicks, I may accidentally get results like the one in this photo. This was pure dumb luck as a result of an odd frame in the trio....the hand of Jerry Garcia or Frank Zappa, perhaps. The D70 battery lasts forever and I had 12Gigs of CF....I took 9000 photos that month on vacation. The only thing I was missing was my bulky panoramic head and tripod, so everything was hand held. It was a blast and the D70 was a champ. Kudos to Nikon repair in El Segundo for coming to my rescue! 10 KLF was a blast and I want to go back this summer, if possible to see Phil Lesh and Friends perform! What a long strange tip its been!
