Gareth Hacking has written us back with his short-interview. We picked the photo below for this past week's Photo of the Week. "Got mud?" Check out the interview below!
What were you trying to capture in this shot (If anything at all)?
I was trying to capture the sheer muddiness of last year’s Glastonbury. There was a camping stall right next to these bins, so people had been buying new Wellingtons and then dumping their wrecked one’s here.
How long have you been behind a camera?
I've been interested in photography for about 7 years now on and off, but have only really been getting into it more over the last year and a half after I purchased my first digital SLR.
Do you prefer a certain brand of gear?
I've tended towards Canon so far.
What is your favorite piece of gear that you own?
It’s my Canon 350D. It’s been good to me so far though it has taken a bit of a battering. I really should take more care of it.
Do you find it troubling to carry equipment around at festivals and still have a decent amount of mobility?
Yes, I came close to losing my 350D to the Glastonbury mud on more than one occasion. I'm in the process of finding myself a decent point and shoot for this year's festivals.
With that said, what do you normally carry with you at a festival?
I normally carry my 350D body with a EF-S 18 - 55mm lens.
