Photo of the Week - No. 3 Cont'd.

| | Comments (2) | TrackBacks (0)

We were fortunate to get great responses back for our Photo of the Week spot. This week we chose a photo by petecarr which we have included in this entry.

Pete is a professional graphic designer turned photographer. Living in Liverpool he is constantly carrying a camera - always exploring the environment no matter where he finds himself.potw_no3_thumb.jpg

Check out our short Q&A below:

Did you know the two ladies in the photo you took? Or was this a candid shot?
I don't know the girls in it. They were covered in mud and posed for shots from the press.

What were you trying in this shot (If anything at all)?
I wasn't trying anything other than to get a shot that conveyed how muddy the festival was, and yet how fun it was.

Why did you choose Black and White for this photograph?
The majority of my people shots are b&w. Its not a conscious decision anymore. Its the way I shoot.

How long have you been behind a camera?
I've been taking pictures all my life, but in anger for about 4 years.

Do you prefer a certain brand of gear?
I can't say that I prefer a certain brand. I use Canon but thats simply because at the time the Canon 10D was better than the Nikon D70. I also have Lomo and a Topcon slr.

What is your favorite piece of gear that you own?
I've I had to choose, its either my Sigma 10-20 or my Canon 24-70. I'm never without these two lenses. The 10-20 for the wide angleness which allows me to capture skies and create dramatic images. The 24-70 is a perfect every day lens.

Thanks Pete!
