Earlier today, the event producers of Movement 08: DEMF (Detroit Electronic Music Festival) made an official announcement. In this announcement they mentioned two very big sponsors of this years festivities. Red Bull Music Academy will be joining up and setting up shop where the Pyramid Stage once stood. Their stage will feature many of the great DJs and producers I mentioned before. The Red Bull Music Academy stage will include performances by: Newcleus, Egyptian Lover, Shawn Michaels, James Zabiela, Benny Bennassi, The Cool Kids, Girl Talk, DATABASS (featuring Godfather), Justin Kruse, Tech Itch and Dieselboy.
And who hasn't heard of MySpace by now? They are joining DEMF as a media partner. MySpace's interest in working with the Movement Festival validates an
already well known fact - Detroit's Electronic Music Festival is an
event that is continuing to grow and attract attention on a worldwide
scale.
As if that wasn't enough, the crew at Paxahau are stepping up this years game production wise. Expect to see some improvements in the sound on the main stage as well as weather structures to protect festival-goers, should rain or some other weather take place.
"We have taken great measures to bring the production to an even higher
level," says Mike Fotias, Movement Production Manager, "We understand
that attendees come here expecting nothing but the best and we are
determined to deliver."
The last thing that was mentioned is that they will be bringing back the UNDERGROUND STAGE! I remember being there last year and my buddy Chris informed me that during previous years, they actually had a stage down here. I couldn't see why they would skip out last year, but its great to know that the festival continues to evolve and bring new talent from the world over.
We here at FestivalFriendly simply cannot wait for this truly amazing experience.
