Photo of the Week - No. 11

| | TrackBacks (0)

Well here it is - the Photo of the Week!  Number 11 was taken by a young lady by the name of Jamie Flemington.  Maybe we can get an interview out of her sooner than later.

This photo was captured at The Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee that took place May 2nd - 4th.  I chose this photo, once again, for the relationship to how I feel about this site and community.  There are many elements that evoke alot of emotion for me.  I love the light coming in off the tree, the way all the people look, their expressions, the joy, etc. And then I begin to ponder about who we are, what this site can be and what the future may hold.

potw_no_11.jpgI'll try to make it a little more light hearted next week, just the kind of uplifting mood I'm in I guess.

Hey there! I have an unexpected update today. Ryanwiz - our Photo of the Week No 9 selection has replied to our interview questions that we sent him. This would normally have been posted about two weeks ago but there were some slight delays in the communication. Check out the interview and photo below!

potw_no9_thumb.jpg

What were you trying to capture in this shot (If anything at all)?

Just tryin to capture one of those special things that only seem to pop up at a cartain type of festival, ya know? There are all these little things that really hold the spirit of the crowd, the music, and the fun...

How long have you been behind a camera?
Since some time in high school, I think. I've always loved how I could sort of *grab* a moment....the colors, and the emotions......and "paint" it, in an instant.

Do you prefer a certain brand of gear?
Nope. Anything will do.

What is your favorite piece of gear that you own?
Just the camera. For me...all I have is the camera and the computer. I'd love to have more....but it's all I can afford.

Do you find it troubling to carry equipment around at festivals and still have a decent amount of mobility?
Nope....not with the size of my setup :)

With that said, what do you normally carry with you at a festival?
My Kodak, a screwdriver-filled Nalgeen, and a smile on my face.

Thanks again Ryanwiz - for contributing to Festival Friendly
